UCHU-X is a start-up at University of Washington selling some merchandises and arts done by Zoe Brooke Winters. Since the beginning of their journey, they have a mission to aim users to speak out about mental health through their cute Japanese-style characters. While working for UCHU-X, I was tasked to design a new packaging and marketing message for their launch of a new figurine product line. But, they wanted the packaging to be stand out in the market with a minimalistic color and a user experience that is playful and attractive every time the users open it.

My biggest challenge was to design some elements that balancing minimalistic and playfulness while emphasizing the UCHU-X's branding and mission.

Working closely with the founders, exploring some prospective solutions, concepting and simplifying several design elements led me to build UOne – UCHU-X first figurine packaging. It's mostly made of transparent PET tube and matte grey HDPE cap to highlight the minimalism and character inside the packaging. Also, combining it with the RX bottle elements creates a unique user experience.
